Twice a year, the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) mounts the Public Governance Forum to highlight the breakthrough achievements of its partners on the pathway to completing the Performance Governance System (PGS). The PGS was adopted from the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), a revolutionary measurement and management system used in business and developed at the Harvard Business School. The BSC is now widely used in improving governance in many public institutions worldwide.
ISA’s Public Governance Forum gathers public and private organizations, local government units, national government agencies, sectoral associations, development agencies, and other interest groups who discuss new directions, exciting implementations, breakthrough results and transformations, and growing opportunities in the practice of good governance.
To keep with the spirit of achieving breakthroughs, ISA is going global for the first time with its Public Governance Forum this March 2010. With the theme GLOBAL BEST PRACTICES FOR LOCAL BREAKTHROUGHS & TRANSFORMATIONS, the Forum will serve as a unique showcase of global and regional institutions that were recently elevated to the Palladium Group’s Hall of Fame Organizations for successfully implementing the Balanced Scorecard.
Four Palladium Hall of Famers will present their case studies in how to sessions to maximize the learning opportunity for corporate and public sectors that are using the BSC as a governance reform tool. The four key presenters are: the US Army, the City of Brisbane, Nippon Boehringer Ingelheim in Japan, and the Korea Customs Service. By learning from global institutions that have been hailed as BSC models, we can achieve breakthroughs and transformations in our nation and create ripples in good governance.
