Governance warriors from the national and local level meet at #BootCamp14

Last week, Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) partners from across the country met at the 14th Governance Boot Camp, held at The Oriental Hotels and Resorts in Legazpi City, to learn more about strategy design, execution, and sustainability for greater impact on development.

Basic Class (September 12-14) highlights included: mixed grouping and other activities designed to help delegates expand their contacts; a global cafe that featured lectures from Mandaue City, Philippine Army, and Philippine Heart Center; a study tour of the local government of Legazpi; Alex Lacson’s ‘Building a Dream Philippines’ lecture; Christian Zaens’ two-day course on Performance Governance System (PGS) essentials; and Jess Estanislao’s reflection on the strategic priorities of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

On the last day, ISA hosted mentoring sessions on various issues surrounding governance, with program officers and associates serving as mentors on program implementation, communication, and training.

Meanwhile, the Master Class (September 15-17) featured case studies from the Department of Trade & Industry, Philippine Army, Balanga City, and Dipolog City – all Islands of Good Governance awardees – as well lectures from Jess Estanislao, Christian Zaens, and Ryan Evangelista focused on sustaining transformation in the public sector.

In total, about 120 delegates representing 30 organizations attended #BootCamp14. The learning event was co-hosted by the City Government of Legazpi and the Philippine Army.

    I don’t know where I can have a copy of all the slides presented in the bootcamp. I did not make much notes because we were promised that we will have copies of the presentation.There were many topics that are very useful in out daily work and very applicable even in our daily activities.
