MANILA – After completing the governance reform pathway in April 2014, the Philippine Navy is making a conscious effort to strengthen ties with other public sector organizations that are pursuing sustainable transformation. Its Center for Naval Leadership and Excellence (CNLE), the office that oversees the disciplined execution of its transformation plan, recently invited counterpart governance practitioners from the defense sector to be part of the maiden voyage of its Good Governance Fellowship, conceptualized as a venue for best-practice sharing and new partnerships.

Addressing officers and personnel from the Department of National Defense, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Army, Philippine Air Forces, Philippine Military Academy, and Philippine National Police, Rear Admiral Ronald Mercado said, “Jointness should not just be exercised in operations but in everything we do.”
