To achieve its vision of becoming “a model for sustainable forest-based economy in the country by 2020” the City Government of Butuan is focusing on three lead initiatives. The first is to farm millions of trees, the second is to grow millions of trees, and the third is socio-economic bundling.
Realizing the necessity of engaging the community and other stakeholders in its governance initiatives, Butuan organized a tree-planting activity in partnership with Philhealth and led by its city mayor, Hon. Ferdinand M. Amante, Jr.
