Assuring to uphold the highest standards for cardiovascular care by 2016, the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) has devoted itself to providing quality care to more patients by maximizing its efficiency in scheduling and performing operations and other services.
Through the implementation of the Institute for Solidarity in Asia’s (ISA) Performance Governance System (PGS), the hospital has already managed to create 78 scoreboards, one for each unit, to monitor and evaluate its performance. These are then used as the basis for an employee’s appraisal and performance based bonus, proving that PHC has managed to link the hospital’s strategic direction and breakthrough goals to the individual performance of each of its employees.
Because of this system, the organization was recognized internationally for its best practices in hospital management by the Asian Management Hospital Awards, which recognizes hospitals throughout Asia that develop exceptional programs to cater to the needs of its patients as well as its personnel. As it continues to develop and better its programs and systems, PHC looks forward to earning another award next year.
