Building A National Legacy
₱700.00 + 12% VATFrom one of the most highly decorated individuals championing good governance, Dr. Jess Estanislao developed a guidebook based on President Benigno S. Aquino III’s inaugural speech and first State-of-the-Nation address where government agencies can follow suit in using the Performance Governance System in transforming their organizations into efficient and responsive institutions which greatly contribute to making a united and progressive nation.
THIS BOOK is very empowering on many counts and at both the ground and national levels.
In one piece, Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao gives a refresher on a roadmap to the making of a united and progressive nation (Philippines 2030).
For President Benigno S. Aquino III, Dr. Estanislao uses again the Performance Governance System in drafting a six-year roadmap based on Mr. Aquino’s own inaugural speech and first State-of-the-Nation address.
As the book shows, it is only President Aquino who is steering a wave of changes in the anti-corruption front. National government agencies (NGAs) are doing this too, as can be read in the second part. Imagine the extent of reforms in government if all NGAs were on board the same ship! The roadmap of the first 12 NGAs can be templates, or at best springboards, for other NGAs that want to venture on the same path.
Obviously, Dr. Estanislao gives a great deal of respect and importance to local government units (LGUs) and their big roles in nation-building. He and the Institute for Solidarity in Asia saw the good changes unfold in the course of aiding LGUS adopt and implement PGS in the last seven years. Yes, several mayors have truly transformed LGUs into efficient and responsive organizations for their constituents. The how-to’s of doing the PGS are in the book’s this part.
This, truly, is a guidebook. the best one there is in the new period of nation-building.

Designing Development
₱700.00 + 12% VATThere are many views on development that have been put forward over decades. Inevitably, they stress economic growth, which needs to be sustained over a long period such that it leads to structural change in the economy. Many of these views reflect the search for the magic bullet that can propel peoples and nations from a state of backwardness to one of prosperity within a few generations, preferably only one or two. They tend to focus on a few, if not on only one of key factors: e.g., education, population control, opening to the rest of the world through free trade, development of credit and capital markets, through a violent revolution the description of the old culture to give way to a new classless society, state planning, environmental protection, moral values and civic education, democracy, etc.
The call for focus on one or a few key factors has yielded fruits of economic and material advancement; however, there is ongoing argument on how good, bad or indifferent these fruits are for the beneficiaries of development.

Towards a National Culture of Excellence
₱700.00 + 12% VATThe dreams and aspirations of our people for development are far from being realized. For generations, we have sought genuine progress: one that is sustained and thereby one that brings welfare to everyone, including and particularly those who have less in life. Yet our hopes have been largely frustrated thus far, in part because of the values operative in our society.

Breaking Through
₱700.00 + 12% VATBreaking Through is the road map you need to utilize the resources of governance and properly navigate life’s challenges to achieve your goals.
NEEDED: A ROAD MAP. Why do we find it difficult to carry out our resolutions? We mean well when we make them. But as we go from day to day, attending to our many duties, we soon forget them or come to regard them as unrealistic.
In Breaking Through: The Road from Resolutions to Results, Jesus Estanislao, founding chairman of the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) and a Philippine Legion of Honor awardee, explains why and, crucially, shows how to use the resources of governance to achieve breakthrough results.
He writes: “We should all recognize that the pathway from resolutions to breakthrough results is lone one. It calls for our moving from talk only to action also: then for having actions guided by broad knowledge that realistically considers the challenges we face; and finally for reinforcing and reinvigorating our commitment to purposeful action by placing our heart in actively working and sacrificing for the common good for all.”
Breaking Through is a road map we need to navigate the road from resolutions to outstanding results.

Guideposts for Governance
₱700.00 + 12% VATDr. Jesus Estanislao, founder of ISA and one of the country’s notable authorities on good governance, offers essential advice on the importance of knowing how to govern oneself before one can govern others. Personal governance is key to successful governance and having these fundamental values will help one become a leader with integrity, fairness, courage, and orderliness.
In his latest book, Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao reminds the reader of the need for good governance even at the level of civic groups, corporations, institutions, and local government units. Indeed, he points out, before any group can be properly and effectively governed for the common good of its members, the individual – the basic unit of any group – must know how to govern himself.
The term governance is often used in a more limited sense than it actually signifies. In fact. governance applies not only to the highest level of a nation’s government.
Personal governance, therefore, is key to the successful governance of any group of persons, from the smallest organization to national governments and even international organizations.
To ensure good governance, Dr. Estanislao recommends the creation and nurturing of a unique culture at the personal, organizational, and national levels – a culture driven by four indispensable core values: integrity, fairness, courage, and orderliness.
In Guideposts for Governance, the author shows us why these fundamental values are essential to good governance.

It Can Be Done
₱1,000.00 + 12% VATThe case studies in this book engage with classic issues of design and implementation, prompting us to think deeply about the transformative power of governance and how to harness it affect change.
After years of pushing for reforms in various national- and local-level government institutions, the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of governance as a positive complement to the massive sharing success stories from our experience to help advance the speed and scale of reforms in the Philippine public sector, as well as to plant the seeds of change in neighboring countries where growth is still stifled by corrupt and inefficient government practices.
We want to affect a change in public mindset in the Philippines, where government as a whole is viewed as unwilling to take steps toward lasting reforms or even as indifferent to the interests of the people. Our true and concrete stories of success can stand as proof that there are public sector institutions that have been able to transform themselves to serve as models of governance for many others. Moreover, these 12 inspiring stories of governance identify people participation as key to real change and therefore hold every Filipino citizen to a higher standard.

When Manila-based IT executive Jonas Tunay accepts an invitation to attend his 25th high school reunion in a small Visayan town, he has no inkling at all that his vacation will result in a life-transforming epiphany.
His conscience pricked by anomalies observed at work, Jonas thinks he can de-stress during his stay in Araut. But after hearing the stories of the people in his life – his cousin Rafael, the arrogant town mayor; his stoic driver Miong and his OFW wife Dory: Jona’s former classmates; and high-school student Maya – Jonas realizes he can’t leave Manila’s problems behind, and is forced to confront the realities that truly shape Philippine society.
When asked to speak to Maya’s class, Jonas is faced with a choice: to present sugar-coated facts, or bare the truth, no matter how explosive?

Bridging the Gap
₱700.00 + 12% VATIn this series, Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao focuses on looking into one’s self to find their place in the world, holding onto hope in the face of challenges, and drawing strength from one’s love for God, country, and others as a source of a clear mind, clean heart, and a generous capacity for service.
In our work with the public sector, we continue to draw inspiration from the idea that our desire to build a better country is driven by a desire to become better persons. We advertise the concept that the success of any institutional governance program rests on the efforts of individuals, and we do our best to guide those individuals in carrying out their aspirations towards personal improvement.
The author, Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao, puts this material forward not as a prescription of beliefs, but as an illustrative example—a Filipino’s way of sharing with other Filipinos an experience in personal governance in the hope of encouraging them to look deeply into their own convictions and to find their place in the world.

The Importance of Hope
₱700.00 + 12% VATIn this series, Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao focuses on looking into one’s self to find their place in the world, holding onto hope in the face of challenges, and drawing strength from one’s love for God, country, and others as a source of a clear mind, clean heart, and a generous capacity for service.
There is a future we wish to shape: a particular result we wish to accomplish through a lifetime of work. We articulate our personal mission, which should give our life purpose and motivate all of our actions and decisions.
The journey of our personal mission is one that is full of struggle—a consequence of our human imperfections, and of the limitations of our earthly life. Still we must continue with confidence and pick ourselves up each time we fall, transformed by the hope that we can rise above our weaknesses to make a difference we are meant to make in this world.
This book is the second in a three-part series on virtues of faith, hope, and love, and their significance in personal governance.

Estanislao focuses on looking into one’s self to find their place in the world, holding onto hope in the face of challenges, and drawing strength from one’s love for God, country, and others as a source of a clear mind, clean heart, and a generous capacity for service.
For Love, the third and final volume in a personal governance series by Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao, describes the beginnings of Opus Dei in the Philippines, the flourishing of change in government institutions after Martial Law, and the founding of significant academic and civil society institutions in the country.
These are set in the context of seeking to realize different personal visions throughout various periods in his personal life, which coincide with transitions in recent Philippine history. The stories narrated in this book are proof that in order to make a positive difference anywhere, it is essential to draw strength from the mighty force of love for God, country, and others.
