This month, the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) worked with several partners on their strategies and launched its latest book under the Dream Philippines campaign.
ISA worked with the Climate Change Commission in developing their Division Performance and Commitment Review (DPCR) and Individual Performance and Commitment Review (IPCR) frameworks in light of its recently crafted strategy to foster a climate-smart Philippines.
Steel Asia Manufacturing Corporation met with ISA for a 3-day strategy formulation session to improve their pre-work outputs and lay out initiatives profiles. SteelAsia Chairman, Benjamin Yao, closed the session with advice on strategy execution: “It has nothing to do with vision. It goes back to training and the development of people and our will, our hope, and our faith that yes we can.”
ISA worked with the Municipality of Orani’s Office of Strategy Management (OSM) and Technical Working Group (TWG) in a 2-day workshop to firm up their scorecard initiatives.
The Philippine Air Force (PAF) convened its Executive Committee to present outputs and updates on their Strategy Refresh. The Executive Committee praised the outstanding progress the defense sector has made in aligning its strategies.
ISA welcomed three new members for the 2017 Society of Associates who underwent a two-part application process, including a written concept note and panel interview defending their governance innovations. The three successful candidates, Captain Armil Angeles (Philippine Navy), Ms. Normita Villaruz (Accountancy Profession), and Colonel Arthur Cordura (Philippine Air Force), were conferred at the 2017 Annual General Membership Meeting (AGMM) at Makati Sports Club on May 22.
The City Government of Balanga’s PGS Core Team discussed steps towards ensuring sustainability of the LGU’s strategy. Mayor Francis Garcia and the PGS Core Team gave their full commitment to continue the reforms started by the previous administration.
ISA also worked with the Navotas City Hospital in preparation for their Initiation revalida on June 21.
The ISA Board of Trustees convened for their second meeting for 2017, where they discussed program updates and plans moving forward.
ISA launched Chairman Emeritus Jess Estanislao’s latest book, Beyond Change: Ideas for Sustainable Governance, on May 22 at the Ayala Hall of the Makati Sports Club. Read more about it on Rappler X.
ISA worked with the Department of Agriculture’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service to discuss the success outcomes of Project Aspire, a regional show designed to promote local agri-based planning products from MSMEs while showcasing the strong backward linkage with farmers and fisherfolk.
ISA Resource Person Ms. Mary Jane O. Rosales, CPA, CIA, CCSA, CRMA worked with the Senior Transformative Leadership Team of the Provincial Government of La Union and members of the Multi-Sectoral Governance Coalition of La Union as they developed an Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization, presented the National IP Strategy to key players in government, its corporate partners, and the academe.
ISA ended the month with an international session with Yone Kyi Yar, a Burmese think tank promoting democratic governance and economic development, to firm up their strategy, mission, and vision statements.
